Stella McCartney, born on 13 September, 1971 is an English fashion designer and was born to the famous, former Beatles band member Paul McCartney and the American photographer and animal rights activist Linda McCartney.
At the age of thirteen, she fell in love with the idea of designing clothes; she made her first jacket and made her love and passion, her career. Her parents imbibed the values of simple living and humility in her. She studied in state schools and in Bexhill College. She interned with Christian Lacroix working on his first haute couture collection. 

Sharp tailoring, sexy feminity and natural confidence was apparent in her first collection. Her graduation collection was modeled by friends and supermodels like Yasmin Le Bon, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss for free at the graduation runaway show. The show made news and the next thing she knew was, her entire collection was sold to Tokio, a London boutique. In 1997, she was appointed as the Creative director of Chloe n Paris.  In 2001, she opened her own fashion house under her name in a joint venture with Gucci Group and showed her first collection in Paris.

She now operates seventeen free-standing stores scattered in various places like Manhattan, London’s Mayfair, LA’s West Hollywood, Milan etc and recently opened showrooms in Miami and Rome. She also tried her hand in perfume and cosmetics business. In 2003, she launched her own perfume, Stella. In January 2007, she launched a skin care line, CARE.
